Ply3rs — Privacy Policy

1. Data Controller

As the data controller, we are responsible for ensuring your data is handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR (EU) 2016/679.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. Ply3rs is a media player that works primarily offline. The app does not include any analytics, advertising SDKs, crash reporting, or usage tracking, and it never sends any data to servers operated by us. The only integrated platform service is the Google Play In-App Review API (see Section 5), which is used solely to display an optional rating dialog. We do not receive any personal data through it.

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

Ply3rs stores the following data locally on your device only, for the sole purpose of providing the app's functionality:

• Playlist data — IPTV playlist URLs and channel information you add
• Login credentials — Xtream Codes or network drive credentials you enter (stored encrypted using AES-256 encryption)
• Favorites — Channels you mark as favorites
• Playback position — Resume position for media you've watched
• Language preference — Your chosen app language

4. Data Transmission

Ply3rs connects to the internet only when you explicitly request it, to:

• Fetch IPTV playlists from URLs you provide
• Stream media content from sources you configure
• Connect to network drives (SMB, NFS, FTP) you set up
• Fetch radio station lists from Radio Browser API when you open the Radio screen (see Section 5)

The app does not contact any server owned or operated by us. All network connections are initiated solely by you and go directly to the content sources you specify or to the Radio Browser public API. No personal data is transmitted.

Opening and viewing local files — including media, images, and text or source code files (250+ programming languages and formats) — happens entirely on your device. The contents of any file you open are read locally for display only and are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared.

5. Third-Party Services

Ply3rs does not integrate any analytics platforms, advertising networks, crash reporting tools, or social media SDKs. The app uses the following external services:

• Google Play In-App Review API — Used only to show an optional in-app rating prompt so you can rate the app on Google Play. The rating dialog is handled entirely by the Google Play Store app on your device. Any rating or review you choose to submit is sent to Google Play and governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We do not receive any personal data, and the API is not used for analytics or tracking.
• Radio Browser API (radio-browser.info) — Used by the built-in Radio feature to fetch a list of publicly available radio station names and stream URLs, organized by country. When you open the Radio screen, the app sends a request to the Radio Browser API containing only your chosen country code (e.g., "IL", "US"). No personal data, device identifiers, or user information is transmitted. The request includes a generic User-Agent string ("Ply3rs/Android"). Radio Browser is a free, open-source, community-maintained radio station directory. Their service is governed by their own terms of service. We do not receive any personal data through this integration.

Aside from these two services, there are no third-party data processors and no other third-party services.

6. Data Sharing & International Transfers

We do not share any data with anyone. Since we do not collect or transmit data, there is nothing to share, sell, or transfer to third parties. There are no international data transfers, as all data remains on your device.

7. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under GDPR. Since all data is stored locally on your device and we have no access to it, you can exercise these rights directly:

• Right of Access (Art. 15) — All your data is on your device; you have full access at all times
• Right to Rectification (Art. 16) — You can edit your playlists, credentials, and settings at any time within the app
• Right to Erasure (Art. 17) — You can delete all app data by clearing app data in Android Settings, or by uninstalling the app
• Right to Data Portability (Art. 20) — Your playlist data is stored in standard formats on your device
• Right to Restriction of Processing (Art. 18) — You can stop using specific features at any time
• Right to Object (Art. 21) — Since we perform no data processing beyond local storage, there is no processing to object to

8. Your Rights Under CCPA

If you are a California resident, the CCPA grants you the following rights:

• Right to Know — We do not collect personal information
• Right to Delete — Uninstall the app or clear app data to delete all locally stored data
• Right to Opt-Out of Sale — We do not sell any personal information
• Right to Non-Discrimination — We do not discriminate against users exercising their privacy rights

9. Children's Privacy

Ply3rs does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). The app does not collect personal information from any user of any age. The app is not directed at children and complies with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and GDPR Article 8.

10. Data Security

We implement the following security measures to protect data stored on your device:

• Encryption — Login credentials are encrypted using AES-256-GCM via Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences
• No Cloud Backup — App data is excluded from Android cloud backup to prevent unintended data exposure
• Minimal Permissions — The app requests only Internet and Network State permissions; no access to location, contacts, phone, camera, or microphone
• System Trust Anchors — Secure (HTTPS) connections are validated against the device's system-trusted certificate authorities. Plain HTTP connections are permitted only for the IPTV streams and network drives you explicitly configure
• Code Obfuscation — Release builds use R8 code shrinking and obfuscation

11. Permissions

Ply3rs requests only the minimum permissions necessary:

• INTERNET — To stream media from URLs and playlists you provide
• ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — To detect connectivity status

The app does not request access to your location, contacts, phone, camera, microphone, storage, or any other sensitive device features.

12. Data Retention

All data is stored locally on your device for as long as the app is installed. Data is automatically and permanently deleted when you:

• Uninstall the app
• Clear the app's data via Android Settings
• Remove individual items within the app (playlists, network sources, etc.)

We retain no data on any server, as we never receive any data from your device.

13. Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We will not reduce your rights under this policy without your explicit consent. For significant changes, we will provide notice through an app update. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

14. Supervisory Authority

If you are in the EEA and believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority (DPA). However, since Ply3rs does not collect or process personal data, it is unlikely that any violation could occur.
